How old does my child have to be to be in the club?

Your child must be 10 years old (2nd grade) to join the Off the Hook Bassmasters fishing club.

If your child is under 13  yeas old, you must be with them during meetings and events.

How much money is it to join the club?

There is an annual membership fee to join the club of $120, this covers some required tournament membership fees and club costs such as prizes for club events.

Off the Hook Bassmasters is a not-for-profit youth organization.

Can I come to an event before joining the club?

Yes, please feel free to attend the club meeting or an event!  Please email or call to let us know that you will be coming.

Do I need a boat?

No, you do not need a boat, many of our events are shore or Kayak fishing.

For events that require a boat, your child is welcome to attend the events, and we will find a captain with a boat for them to fish out of. 

Your child is required to have a certified life jacket.

What equipment do I need?

For some of the club events that will be shore fishing, A fishing rod and lures are all that you need.  

If you are going to participate in club tournament, you will need a scale and a way to measure your catch in inches.

A life jacket is required if you are going to be on a boat or a kayak.

Members who will participate in the Illinois Bass Nation youth angler tournaments will require a B.A.S.S. membership, and a fishing Chaos membership.

Off the Hook Bassmasters provides vital structure and resources for youth anglers who are interested in bass fishing.

The club is operated by experienced tournament anglers who volunteer their time and knowledge to help the youth anglers along their path.

Off the Hook Bassmasters consistently win local and state championships and have participated in the Junior Bassmasters National Championships!

Club meetings will often consist of tips and tricks from tournament anglers, how-to demos, games, activities and of course fishing!
